Week 3 – Image 1
Groups chug up the hill emerging from the archway
built when the Romans ruled Spoleto.
Young men with large, hand-crafted crosses around their necks followed
monks wearing traditional robes held together at the waist by long cords
entwined with rosaries. St. Francis’
legacy in the flesh. In the Piazza del
Duomo the umbrellas at the café along the steps look like a Franciscan monk
with his hood covering his head and face reminding me of the villainous characters
in a Radcliffe novel.
