Dr.
Masters – Gomorrah, pt. 2
I
was a little surprised to learn just how vast the system based in Naples
is. With the power to set prices on
AK-47’s in any country, even though I would like to believe I am not a part of
such a system, I can’t really get away with that any longer. Now when I think I’m supporting the local
economy, which I am, I can see that I am also supporting the Camorra or Camorra-like
entity. It reminds me of a bee hive or
an ant hill. Worker bees work and if one
of them is killed, another is there to take its place immediately. Production doesn’t stop. The consumer is no longer in control, the
market sets up what is offered, what’s in style and the consumer believes the
propaganda and the cycle repeats itself.
Promotion plays a big role, is a commodity as well. It seems like everything becomes a commodity,
even the garbage that’s generated from so much production. It is obvious that the almighty dollar rules
when a system is willing to dump toxic waste on the very area where the worker
bees come from. It seems like the whole enterprise
would implode. But instead, it just
seems to keep reaching farther and farther to other countries. Maybe it will never end.
